Your walk begins at Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios, once home to the 1930s Village Barn, on West 8th Street. From there, stroll down MacDougal Street, once the heart of the Bohemian, beatnik, and folk scene. Step into Washington Square Park, the Village’s lively backyard, crowned by its iconic arch and filled with the sounds of jazz, rap, folk, and poetry.

See CAFÉ WHA, the first venue Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan performed at in Greenwich Village. You’ll also pass the former Fat Black Pussy Cat, where Bob Dylan wrote “Blowin’ in the Wind,” and the legendary Café Society, the 1930s club that showcased groundbreaking Black artists like Billie Holiday, Josh White, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Along the way, enjoy curated tracks by these historic performers as you walk in their footsteps. The tour ends at  the Porto Rico Importing Company (est. 1907), home to more than 100 teas and coffees.  This award-winning tour—recognized by both Viator and Tripadvisor for excellence—offers a groovy, flavorful, and rocking taste of the Village. Come hungry and curious—your taste buds and ears will thank you.
