Your journey begins at the magnificent St. Anthony of Padua Church (1888), the first Italian-speaking Roman Catholic church in the United States. From there, stroll to Raffetto’s Pasta (est. 1907), and past the Tira a Segno Italian Rifle Club. Savor the aromas at the Porto Rico Importing Company (1907), famous for its 100+ varieties of tea and coffee—including the luxurious $125/lb Ting Tong Oolong Tea and $100/lb Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee.Admire the stunning Baroque interior of Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Then, unwind in Father Demo Square, an Italian-style piazza surrounded by pizza lovers enjoying stringy slices from the iconic Joe’s Pizza.

Your guide, Greg, proudly traces his Italian-American roots to Giuseppe Mare and Maria Radice, who settled in the neighborhood in 1884.  Between tastings, Greg brings the Village to life with music, laughter, and family stories that celebrate his Italian-American heritage.
